How the Critique Process Works

Applicants must be active, dues-paying members of the Portrait Society of America.

The Portrait Society of America’s exclusive members only Portfolio Critique Program gives members the rare opportunity to connect one-on-one with internationally recognized artists for a professional critique of their work.
Whether you are refining your technical skills, developing your artistic voice, or preparing work for exhibitions and competitions, this individualized experience offers valuable direction and encouragement from accomplished professionals in the field.
Critiques may address a wide range of artistic concerns, including color harmony, composition, anatomy, perspective, design, value structure, edge control, and overall visual impact.
Submit up to five works for review and enjoy a live phone consultation with one of our distinguished critique artists. This interactive format allows you to ask questions directly, discuss artistic goals, and receive thoughtful, constructive feedback tailored to your work.
This exclusive member benefit may be used as often as you wish.
Once your submission is received, it will be assigned to one of our faculty critique artists.
Your critique session will be conducted by phone, allowing for meaningful dialogue and direct interaction with the artist.
