2021 Self Portrait Fundraiser, A View of Self
Thank you to everyone who participated by either entering or voting during the 2021 Self Portrait Fundraiser, A View of Self! This fun and interactive project was launched again this summer to challenge artists around the world to paint, draw or sculpt a self-portrait created during the global pandemic. Artists uploaded their entries to a public site, and the winner was decided by people’s choice via online voting, rather than being judged or juried. Meant to be a fundraiser as well as an art sharing project, the project received world-wide support and raised more than $24,000 in support of the ongoing educational programs and publications of the Portrait Society. It was inspirational to see the variety and depth of work being created, even in these unusual times. The winners were announced on August 26, 2021 by Chairman Michael Shane Neal. Here are the winning self portraits. You can also click the button above to view all 406 entries or just a snapshot of entries.
